Please ask yourself these questions:
1. What do you want in your life that you don't have now?
2. What do you have in your life now that you want to get rid of or have less of?
3. Are you clear on how to get what you want?
Whatever it is you want, I offer coaching support to help you. My coaching focus is simply this: You, better. My coaching approach to help bring about "You, better" is simply this: GROW. Please allow me to elaborate:
G = Goal. Clarify what you want and why it is important to you.
R = Reality. Figure out your current state so we can assess the gap to close.
O = Options. Identify possible options for moving you closer to your goal.
W = Way forward. Choose the solution that you want and take action.
How I can help you:
1. Individual coaching. Using the GROW approach, we can talk regularly in sessions as brief as 20 minutes or as long as an hour. Our coaching partnership could be as long as several months or as brief as a "one-and-done."
2. Self-awareness building. How you see yourself is your identity, and how others see you is your reputation. If your identity and reputation don't match, your blind spots may be holding you back. I can help you increase your self-awareness about what you value and want, how you try to get what you want, and what may be getting in your way. I offer assessments to individuals, teams, or groups as part of coaching or as "one-and-done" events.
3. Development to boost your power and effectiveness. I've designed and delivered training on topics such as coaching, leadership development, difficult conversations, building trust, understanding and using your strengths, providing effective feedback, creating effective development plans, consulting, and innovation. I can help you, your team, or your group learn new and better skills.
4. Team and group coaching. Team coaching is for structured groups of people who need to work together to achieve a common purpose (such as aand department in an organization). Group coaching is for individuals who share a common goal but who don't work together in a team environment (such as people who are parts of different organizations).
Things to seek in your coach:
1. Empathy paired with accountability. You can count on me for that. Perhaps the highest praise I received from any client is this: "Dick is very empathetic and nonjudgmental, but he doesn't let you off the hook." I offer that to you.
2. Experience coaching. In my 30+ years with a Fortune 500 company based in Iowa, I have helped young and aspiring talent reach new heights, helped experienced people find new paths in their careers, helped executives become better leaders, and coached teams and groups to help them through challenges and changes. Among my clients are IT executives, medical and education professionals, financial planners, sales managers, and other coaches.
3. Strong qualifications. I'm an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coach Federation and am a Board Certified Coach, which means I completed many hours of training, worked with mentor coaches, and demonstrated my skills to others to prove my effectiveness. You can see more about my background via my website or via my LinkedIn page.
Do you have these things?
1. Awareness of who you are and what you want. If don't know what you value, who you are or want to be, or what you want, I can help you get greater clarity. When you see things with greater clarity, your path to what you want becomes clearer.
2. A willingness to stretch and grow outside your comfort zone. Staying in your comfort zone keeps you where you are. Getting outside your comfort zone increases awareness and ability and enables growth. If you are willing to stretch and grow, I can help you become even better than you already are, reach goals not yet achieved, and overcome barriers that keep you where you are.
